Website Design Rant

Last week I sent out a campaign targeting a particular industry. As I was trawling through my database seeking extra details to add to my mailing list, I stumbled across a few of their websites that looked like they were designed when the internet first became mainstream. They had no style to them, no set boundaries for text or pictures, were completely unprofessional & looked awful against competitors whose sites were immaculately designed.
They really were an eyesore.
As much as I would like to name & shame these sites, so you could see what I am talking about, I am hoping they will become clients of mine in the future so I can just help them to brand themselves better online.

I wonder if these companies realise how bad their websites actually are?? Or are they deluded and think their sites are wonderful? Maybe they are still stuck in the traditional way of doing things and don’t care about moving forward into the online world? If so, big mistake guys.

Fingers crossed these companies respond to me and I can help them. Cause they really do need it.

  • Hi

Really good blog, all post is great

  • You’ve also got to remember there are a lot of crappy old school web designers out there still as well.

These days I think business almost need a new website every 2 years, or at least a major over haul. That’s why content management systems are so awesome, they can still maintain their actual content and all you need to do is design / update the CSS to give it a new modern look.

  • It still blows me away to see so many poorly designed big business websites. All the savvy small businesses must be loving it though!
